Summer 2020 at Ooty with a Surprise?
Summers in Ooty aren’t a surprise, don’t be alarmed. Ooty is still the chill – little town whose all-year round cool weather you can enjoy. Everything is normal there, so calm to a point where you might start longing for something fun – something to pump your adrenaline to a rush! If you’re going on a vacation for a few months at Ooty, you might as well enjoy some adventure too, rather than just spending calm lazy days in your cottage or villa.
Of course, Ooty isn’t a place that’s scarce of attractions, there is a boathouse, there is the botanical garden – Ooty is one happening place for a vacation, but where’s the fun?
What could be fun?
Would you like a long ride on a bicycle scaling the hills? Would you like to rappel down the slopes on a rope? How thrilled would you be if you were said that all these things would be possible next summer?
All these might sound posh, but it isn’t really out of reach because the government’s TTDC has announced an Adventure Sports Park by the summer of 2020 understanding the need of some thrill among the entire chill, at Ooty.
This huge 1.4 acre of pure adventure is set to be built near the Boat house for better accessibility and construction is scheduled to begin by November and start functioning in full swing by next summer. This land facilitates various adventure activities such as mountain climbing, rappelling, rope adventures, rope ladder climbing, wobbly bridge, etc. This is the first ever time the Government has brought up something like this to a tourist location in Tamil Nadu.
The main attraction of this huge span of land is at the centre – the mountain biking track. This track isn’t just for the pros, but for anyone that would like to ride on this cool hill-station, pedalling two wheels. These mountain biking tracks stretch from 30 to 160 kilometres and are split into 4 based on the type of riders
- Easy small undulating terrain for the beginners – 30-60 km long.
- Gentle with some uphill slopes for the ones who’d love a little bit of challenge – 80 km long
- Moderate with steeper drops and uphill rides, for the people who live for challenges – 95 km long
- Challenge course for the professional riders that would like to put their skills to test with harshly steep slopes and uphill climbs – 160 km long.
The park would provide with bicycles on rental bases, but the locals can bring in their own cycles too, if it suits the terrain. This park is built to hold a HUGE crowd of 18000 people.
Also, there will also be a guided Segway – an electric, self balancing vehicle around the park and there’s also a treasure island, for kids and adults of all ages can have fun at.
This is hot news running around the state now because this type of development is rare. The expert team of Hills & Wills, being pioneers of such news updates has brought this news out to you because, development of this project would boost the socio-economic status of Ooty, and a lot of tourist attention. People have been skipping Ooty, or visiting this place just for some shopping, but now, this development would attract more tourists, with something fresh for them to enjoy. Development of this park would also ameliorate the real estate of this place thus increasing the value of the property and also the owners that own property at Ooty.
